Freeman brings engineering expertise to Quality Assurance team
Profile Extrusion is proud to announce the addition of Elton Freeman to the Quality Assurance team. As Quality Support Specialist, Freeman is responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of Profile’s aluminum extrusions by improving procedures, measuring and scanning components and equipment, and evaluating the finished product.
“Freeman brings a fresh perspective and technical expertise to our Quality Assurance team,” said Quality Manager Keith Doegg. “His background in engineering and mathematics allows him to see and solve problems in unique ways. He’s already developing statistical programs that will enhance operational efficiency and the quality of our custom extrusions.”
Profile Extrusion produces custom aluminum extrusions for the building, construction, outdoor and recreational, and HVAC industries. Before joining Profile, Freeman worked in research at the Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory at the University of Tennessee, and at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
Freeman researched and developed a new, more accurate method of predicting heat transfer in metals. Freeman’s research paper on the subject will be published this year in the “International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer.”
Freeman received a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics from the University of West Georgia in 2004. He earned two Master’s degrees in Physics and Engineering Science from The University of Tennessee in 2008 and 2012, respectively.
Freeman is a long-time resident of Rome and Lindale. He is a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers and the Sigma Pi Sigma Physics Honorary Society.
